Grace and Jesse had their summer wedding in Detroit, Michigan. It was my first time shooting a wedding there and it did not disappoint. After the couple had moment during their first look, we loaded up on a bus to explore the downtown. Our first stop was Trapper’s Alley, which made for an amazing backdrop for the bridal party. I just love using the architecture of a city to create interesting lines in my portraits. Next, we made our way to The Belt, which is another tucked-away alley filled with unique art. We utilizes the many murals to bring some bright colors into the photos. After portraits we arrived at the venue, The Whiskey Factory, where the ceremony and reception was held. Grace and Jesse had such an emotional ceremony that even I was tearing up behind the camera. Once the party started, I could tell the guests were ready to cut loose. I love this time of day because it’s an awesome opportunity to capture all the raw emotions during the speeches and dancing. We capped off the day on the roof of the venue where the couple shared a quiet moment watching the sunset. Of course I was able to grab a few frames of the scene. I thank these two for being incredible clients and just all-around amazing people!
