Ashley and Brandon’s hot summer wedding reminded me of why I love shooting weddings in Chicago. The day started at the historic Blackstone where where the couple were getting ready separately. The first look was at a park across the street and was one of my favorite moments of the day. I love it when the bride and groom can grab a couple of minutes to themselves before the day really takes off. They were such a happy and effortless couple and were in great spirits throughout the day. They opted out of a bridal party so the four of us headed to Olive Park and then on to Adler Planetarium to take advantage of the incredible views of the city. After capturing some stunning pictures of the two of them we headed to The Joinery for the ceremony and reception. The rustic elegance of the space was a perfect setting for a celebration filled with an abundance of love and laughter. The flowers looked incredible and really helped to transform the space into an intimate garden party. All in all, the day was a great reminder of why I love capturing weddings in this city.
